Access Services offers a comprehensive package of employee benefits. These benefits include the following:

Comprehensive health insurance:

Participants may choose coverage for themselves and any eligible dependents, or to opt-out of the plan if they are covered by another employer-sponsored plan.

Access Services pays the entire premium cost for HMO and Kaiser coverages for both employee and eligible dependents. ASI will pay 95% of the monthly premium for PPO medical coverage for both employee and dependents, up to limits established by the Board of Directors.

Coverage begins the first day of the month after 30 days of employment.

Dental insurance:

The Prepaid Dental Benefit (DHMO) option provides basic care at no charge to the employee and other services at a low co-payment.

Indemnity Dental Benefits (DPO) option provides basic care at no charge to the employee and other services at a payment of 90% on most usual and customary charges up to $1,500 per year.

Coverage begins the first day of the month after 30 days of employment.

Vision insurance:

Comprehensive vision insurance (PPO) covers frames, lenses, contact lenses and exams.

Coverage begins the first day of the month after 30 days of employment.

Life and Long Term Disability insurance:

Employer-paid Life Insurance provides an amount equal to the employee’s annual salary.  Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance doubles the amount paid in case of accidental death.

Coverage begins the first day of the month after 30 days of employment.

Employer-paid Long Term Disability Insurance provides up to 66% of salary for employees unable to work after a 90-day waiting period. Coverage begins the first day of the month after 30 days of employment.

Employee may choose Optional Life Insurance at their own expense.  Employee may choose up to $100,000 additional insurance with a guaranteed issue ($25,000 for spouses or domestic partners).  Children may also be insured up to $10,000 per child.

Through underwriting, employees may choose up to five times their annual salary in optional life insurance.  Spouses or domestic partners may be insured to the amount that is half the employee's amount.  For example, if the employee has $200,000 in optional life coverage, the spouse can be insured up to half that amount or $100.000.

Paid Time Off (PTO):

All regular full-time employees accrue PTO from the first day of employment. PTO is accrued according to the following accrual rate:

  • Twenty-two days per year for the first four years worked
  • Twenty-seven days per year beginning in the fifth year worked
  • Thirty-two days per year beginning in the ninth year worked

Holidays:

Ten scheduled paid holidays per year.

Retirement:

CalPERS (California Public Employees Retirement System) - 100% employer-paid, 2% @ 60, employees are vested after five years’ service

403 (b)(7) tax sheltered annuity retirement plan. Currently there is no employer contribution.

Monthly reimbursement of parking up to $57.50, or for transit passes up to $230 through payroll. Note: Amounts reimbursed above $230 will be subject to taxes in accordance with IRS regulation.

Employee Assistance Plan

Employer-paid enrollment in EAP, coverage begins first day of employment.

Educational Assistance

Educational assistance is offered upon completion of six months probationary period up to $1,200 per fiscal year and must be pre-approved in accordance with Access Services’ policies.
